Skills and Function

• Abilities

  Being an angel, Eliya has a number of supernatural abilities as his disposal. Here is a concise list:
  
  Shape Shifting: Can and often takes on a human disguise. His favorite way to use this ability, however, it to turn his wings into different objects, particularly weapons if he's in battle. If the weapons break, they revert back to their original form.
  
  Divine Whisper: In the same way that demons/devils can tempt a persona to evil, Eliya and other angels can motivate people to do good. This is not mind-control/domination, per-se, but it does bring to mind things like guilt in the face of a wrong choice and relief in the face of a good one.
  
  Invisibility: can be undetectable to anything man-made (depending on the rules of the setting), like most angels and spirits are.
  
  Halo Bolts: A very basic form of attack for an angel, he projects energy in varying amounts from his halo. The effectiveness of these bolts varies wildly depending on many external circumstances.
  
  Immunities: Having friends in high places, he is unaffected by charms and curses. Being a spiritual being, he is unhampered by natural forces, such as gravity or temperature.
  
  Multiverse Traversal: Eliya enjoys visiting other realities, seeing how they affect him and the different kinds of people he can meet. He can only visit universes he is divinely sanctioned to visit, though.
  
  Vulnerabilities: He is a moderately low-ranking spirit, being the lowest of the nine orders of angel. There are very few natural things that can give him trouble, but other higher-level spiritual beings, such as demons, d'jinn, certain types of fairies, and the like are far more likely to overpower him.

• Function

  He is in charge of delivering messages from on high to either mortals down below or to other spiritual beings.
  
  Sometimes, though, he is called upon to use his skills and powers to do battle against forces that mortals cannot deal with on their own.
  
  One of the most important functions he serves is to help redeem fallen angels. When the fallen show promise of redemption, Eliya is often sent down to speak to them and guide them back to the right path so he can welcome them back home.
